in all major, multi-volume general encyclopedias available in the market:
Encyclopedia Americana, Encyclopedia Britannica, Compton’s Encyclopedia,
New Book of Knowledge Encyclopedia, and World Book Encyclopedias. This
variety allows us to offer choices to our customers in one place and to
recommend the appropriate selection based on the customer’s needs
and the prospective reader’s level. In other words, we are not going
to recommend that, for example, the 32-volume Encyclopedia Britannica is
suitable for a second grader—except on very rare occasions.
We also handle some specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, and reference
